OUR PROJECTS

TIPS TO AVOID COSTLY PROBLEMS:

Never Flush Feminine Hygiene Products, Cotton Balls and Swabs

Tampons and pads clog toilets. They’re designed to absorb and expand and that’s exactly what they will do in your pipes. The same goes for cotton balls and swabs.

Put Hair in the Basket, Not the Bowl

Throw hair in the waste basket, not the toilet. Hair collects and creates giant balls that trap odors and create large blockages in your plumbing.

Beware of Paper Towels

You may think paper towel behaves the same as toilet paper. But it doesn’t. Paper towel is designed to be super absorbent and does not decompose at the same rate as toilet paper. It can clog your pipes quickly, so put it in the basket, not the bowl.

Don’t Flush Food Waste

Don’t dispose of expired milk, sauce, or grease down the toilet. Once cooled and hardened, fat and grease will stick to the walls of your pipes and cause clogs over time.

Don’t Flush Disposable Wipes

Even though they’re sometimes advertised as “flushable,” they are not. While advertisements may claim these wipes are safe for sewers and septic tanks, they are way too thick for flushing. Also, the chemicals used in wipes are likely to pollute our water system.
